BABY ZIPPY TIPS - Meal

SOUP ON THE WALLS? NO DRAMA!

HOW TO PREPARE FOR BABY MEAL TIME

Baby mealtime can trigger the artist sitting in the chair. It is natural that food can end up everywhere: on the walls, on clothes, on the floor… meanwhile, the baby smiles and enjoys its meal.

This is one of the few healthy “chaotic scenarios” that you should not try to avoid. Children learn to explore food and taste through these moments. Try not to get bored, enjoy and have fun, because it goes by very fast!

If we can't help with improvised art, we can suggest some tips to make the most of these moments:

Let the baby eat freely with his hands:

In this way, the baby will be able to discover the textures of food, such as fruit or even a cookie. Bet on classic or waterproof bibs to prevent clothes from getting dirty, although we are aware that this can be an impossible mission.

Eat meals at the same time:
Thus, the baby will begin to observe how to eat with the cutlery and will try to reproduce through imitation. When the baby starts to sit in the high chair, bet on age-appropriate plates, cutlery and glasses, which will help his development and autonomy.

Establish a routine:
Keep the schedules regular and disciplined to facilitate the process and make meals calmer and more enjoyable for everyone.

Dining Chairs

There are different models depending on the needs and routines of parents:

Multifunction Dining Chairs: they are the most versatile dining chairs, being able to be used from birth to approximately three years old.In the first few months, they can be used as sun loungers and, when the baby starts to eat, they become high chairs with tray or, if the tray is removed, as a high chair so that the baby can have a place at the table and share the meal with the family, developing social skills.

Dining Chairs with a simple structure: they are suitable for use from approximately 6 months. They are chairs without backrest reclining, being a more practical alternative for meal routines. They usually close compactly, so they take up little space and can be stored away when not in use.

Travel Dining Chairs: can be suspended on the table or placed on the chairs, being secured with straps between the base and the back of the same. These are a practical option to take on vacation and to the home of friends or family, in order to always guarantee a comfortable place for the baby during the meal.

Turkish bibs: light, soft and comfortable, they are essential to prevent your baby from getting wet during the teething stage. They can be fastened with a self-adhesive closure or with a drawstring around the neck.

Waterproof bibs: they are a practical and easy-to-clean option, ideal for use during meals. Some waterproof bibs have a front pocket to store the food scraps that fall out during the meal, while others have sleeves, to ensure that the baby is completely dry and clean during the meal. Both models can be fastened with a self-adhesive closure or with a drawstring around the neck.

Plates

There are different models suitable for age or use.

Deep dishes or bowls: they are distinguished by the ease of preparing the porridge and giving it to the baby. When the baby gains more autonomy, this type of plate is also interesting, as it helps the baby to handle the cutlery, keeping the food inside the plate.

Plates with suction cups: they are fixed to the table and prevent its movement, being also a good alternative to help develop babies' autonomy at mealtime.
Dishes with hot water containers: help keep food warm for longer, ideal for babies who make mealtime even more challenging.
